These 20 ECs are to ensure that you have the foundational knowledge on which the Master's programme builds. The examination board will evaluate if your Bachelor's degree and 20 ECs meet the requirements.

Language requirements

In order to take part in this programme, you need to be proficient in both written and spoken English. Students with a Bachelor's degree obtained in Australia, Canada (excluding Quebec), Ireland, New-Zealand, United Kingdom or the United States, where the language of instruction was English, are exempted from the language requirements. Other candidates need to have obtained a language certificate.

What will you learn?

This Intersectional Gender Studies programme provides you with an interdisciplinary and intersectional perspective, combining insights from cultural studies, sociology, political sciences, and social psychology, among others.

You will learn to analyse how social categories such as gender, race, disability and class intersect and shape inequalities at individual, structural, and cultural levels. The programme includes hands-on research projects where you apply your knowledge to real-world challenges, such as the gender pay gap, unequal access to healthcare, and biases in artificial intelligence.

You will critically reflect on existing policy interventions and assess their effectiveness in addressing these layered issues. By the end of your studies, you will be equipped to (re)design policies and interventions that are inclusive and responsive to the complexities of societal inequality.
